3Brain is the world’s first company to record cell activity using intelligent cell culture plates, daring to envision a future where big data is integrated into life science research.
Our mission remained steady over time: to develop microchip-based technology to revolutionize scientific research.
We are a pioneer in the deep-tech sector, with over two decades of scientific advancements in the industry. The headquarters are near Zürich, Switzerland, while our branch in Genova, Italy remains at the heart of our scientific validation activities. We have expanded our reach further by opening a new base in the United States, strategically positioned to serve the diverse needs of researchers worldwide.
Combining microelectronics and biology has resulted in remarkable enhancements in statistical significance and success rates, optimizing kinetic assays, and screening experiments. We are optimistic that these technological advancements will propel research on neurons and other electrogenic cells, accelerating the development of medical treatments, and positively impacting the lives of many.
We believe in continuous development. Therefore, we allocate substantial resources to crafting microchips that help answer researchers' evolving scientific questions.
Through ongoing advancements, our microchips have achieved significant data handling capabilities. They can now process vast amounts of information from thousands of electrodes simultaneously, enabling us to scale our technology further. This innovation provides exceptionally precise results, while also enabling real-time visualization of sample activity. Additionally, we tailor our chips with specific features to facilitate the study of diverse biological models.
Designed in Switzerland, our products deliver to the highest standards.
Stemming from our passion for technology and scientific progress, our co-founders have worked for more than 15 years on CMOS-powered cell-electronic interfaces with the aim of boosting research in major fields like neuroscience, ophthalmology and cardiology.
After being the first to introduce CMOS-based HD-MEA (high-density microelectrode array) to overcome passive MEA limitations, we are now setting up the next standard by introducing the CorePlate™ technology, a multiwell device for advanced cell-based analysis backed by per well logical processing cores.
Our unfaltering research and development are aimed at improving in vitro cell-based screening outputs and thus raising the potential of finding new treatments for brain diseases.
